Dallas ISD police chief leaving to start Uber-like car service – with cops driving the cars

Dallas ISD police Chief Craig Miller is retiring on Jan. 1 to focus on a new business that will work like Uber – but cops will be driving the cars.

Miller said the new business, called Bubbl, will roll out in the next 30 days. He and a group of partners, who will run the business until he retires, plan to start in the Park Cities area and eventually expand.

People will feel safer driving with police officers and having them drive their children, said Miller, who has led the DISD police department for about five years.

“Having a police officer as a driver reassures parents and gives them instant credibility for being safe and trustworthy,” Miller said.

Safety has been a big issue of late with ride-hailing companies, such as Uber, which has drivers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and in over 400 cities worldwide…
